Linyi opened in 2011 — the first campus we built beyond Beijing. The main hall faces east, laid out along Yinqueshan Road. Between classes, students walk from the east colonnade out to the central plaza, where a small bronze globe — designed years ago by students from a Beijing art academy — anchors the courtyard.
Lessons follow the same Canadian approach we use across our network — faculty in both countries plan together and mark against the same rubric. In the early mornings, the sound of English reading drifts out of second-floor windows. That is the Linyi rhythm.
The east wing holds a small water garden — a pond, lotus, a few koi. It was a gift from our Shandong partner at the time of opening. Students sit here to read, to write, sometimes just to look. We have kept this space deliberately outside of the academic timetable.
